Peter Amphlett

Peter Amphlett, ULR Project Worker, Joint Chair

Peter Amphlett is the RCM northern project worker for its English Union Learning Representative project and has been in post since June 2009.

Previously, Peter worked for unionlearn, the TUC’s learning and skills division for five years, supporting unions in Yorkshire to develop learning opportunities for working people. He also helped recruit over 70 Skills for Life Advocates, senior trade union officers who championed the literacy and numeracy agenda in all their activities.

Before that, he worked for British Telecom for 19 years, but was a full time branch and regional officer for the Communication Workers Union for 18 of those years.

Peter is currently studying for a Foundation Degree in Business Studies with the Open University and lives in York with his wife, Jane.
