Professor Janice Kay
Professor Janice Kay is Deputy Vice Chancellor at the University of Exeter. She has two portfolios: strategic responsibility for education and the student experience from admissions to graduation and employment; and line management responsibility for the College of Humanities and the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry.
She was responsible for the strategic development of the University Science Strategy, and has also recently overseen the new Arts and Culture strategy that has a regional and national brief, and links strongly with the university’s excellent Humanities’ disciplines.
She speaks nationally on graduate employment matters, widening access and admissions, and the student experience. She chairs the 1994 Group of research-intensive universities Student Experience Policy Group. She is a Board Member of the Higher Education Academy, a member of the HE Public Information Steering Group (looking at the provision and public availability of Information, Advice and Guidance to applicants to University) and the Department of Education HE Engagement Board. She is also a trustee of the Nightline Association, and the Exeter Northcott Theatre.
