Jeff Moore
Jeff Moore is Chief Executive of East Midlands Development Agency (emda). He was appointed in February 2005, having previously served as emda's Director of Corporate Services and Deputy Chief Executive.
Jeff joined emda as the Director of Finance in July 1999 and subsequently also became the Director responsible for Inward Investment and Tourism in September 1999 and then Director of Corporate Services & Investment.
Born in Nottingham the day after Roger Bannister broke the four minute mile barrier, he was educated at Bilborough Grammar School, before starting work at Boots in 1972. He has always lived in the East Midlands and after qualifying as an accountant he gained a degree in law at Trent Polytechnic.
He trained and qualified as a member the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy within local government working through a variety of financial roles within District and County Council’s. In 1989 he was appointed Director of Finance for Broxtowe Borough Council.
Jeff is married with a family and when he can get away from emda, enjoys many sports, particularly football, cricket and golf. He is a lifelong supporter of Notts County Football Club and Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club which accounts for his baldness.
Jeff is also a co-opted board member of the Heart of England Tourist Board and his responsibilities include Regional Venture Capital. He also sits on the Investment Advisory Committee for the Lachesis Fund (Universities spin out fund) and on the board of Connect Midlands.
