Nicky Parker
Nicky is the Head of Transformation at Manchester City Council and President of the Society of Chief Librarians. She is responsible for delivering the transformation programme across the whole of the City Council which includes redesigning services and delivering £170m of efficiencies in Manchester. She is part of the leadership team delivering the Improvement and Efficiency programme across the 10 local authorities of Greater Manchester. Nicky was previously the City’s Head of Library and Information Services managing a programme of new library buildings across the City, the Greater Manchester County Record Office and the well regarded Library Theatre Company. She is a Trustee of The Reading Agency, a national charity that works with libraries across the UK, an elected member of the General Assembly of the University of Manchester and previously a member of the statutory Advisory Council on Libraries. Outside of work, she is a Trustee of several youth organisations.
