Dr Theresa Shaw
Theresa is passionate about nursing and enabling nurses to flourish as caring, knowledgeable and skilled practitioners. As CEO, she is proud of the work FoNS has contributed by supporting nurses and to lead innovation and improvement in response to patients’ experiences and needs.
Theresa is a Registered Nurse and Registered Nurse Teacher. She worked in the NHS for 17 years during which time her experience spanned clinical nursing, nurse education and practice development. Theresa has held a range of external positions and advisory roles including with academic institutions, NICE, HQIP and KT-EQUAL; she is a member of the International Advisory Board for Nurse Education in Practice and is regularly invited to speak locally and nationally on enabling innovation and improvement.
More recently, Theresa was awarded an Honorary Senior Research Fellowship at Canterbury Christ Church University and is looking forward to supporting and working with the Department of Nursing and Applied Clinical Studies on strengthening practice development and practice based research activity.
