Mary Currie
Mary Currie began her career in the NHS as a nurse over 20 years ago, in that time she moved into specialist roles and trained in non-invasive cardiac diagnostics.
In 2000 she was appointed as one of the first nurse consultants, developing an interest in management and service re-design and successfully completed an MBA. In 2005 she became director of South East London Cardiac Network working across organisational boundaries to improve patient pathways.
In 2007 she was seconded to the Department of Health working on a national cardiac diagnostics project, supporting the delivery of the 18 week targets. Later that year she commenced her current role with a portfolio including innovation, performance and business development.
Mary has significant experience of service redesign, innovation and transformational change. More recently, she has gained experience of merger management supporting the transfer of South West Essex Community Services to North East London Foundation Trust.
