Maddie qualifies in September 2012. Although she began my midwifery training in Wales, she has since moved to London and is continuing her training at the University of West London. Having been a Welsh representative, she has now moved over to the English side! Her interest in joining the SMWG stemmed from wanting to understand and be able to effectively communicate about some of the issues students/midwives face (both in practice and university), and the SMWG is a great forum in which to do this. Maddie really enjoyed finding out about the experiences of other student midwives and this also motivated her to join the SMWG. Prior to midwifery she completed a psychology degree and am interested in the way these disciplines interact with and compliment each other.
