Liz Rix
Liz Rix has been Chief Nurse at University Hospital of North Staffordshire for the past two and a half years, having held previous director-level nursing and patient safety posts in large, integrated trusts.
She is a graduate of the NHS Management Training Scheme and is one of the few nurses to undertake the scheme after being in the health service for a number of years.
Liz is passionate about delivering quality care for patients through clinical leadership at all levels of the nursing team.
Her focus on infection prevention at the Trust has brought MRSA down from 22 cases two years ago to just four this year. Other quality indicators are following suit as the team pilots national quality and safety programmes.
Liz has recently undertaken a transformation programme within University Hospital, reshaping the nursing workforce to give an emphasis on the teams’ pride and respect in delivering quality care.
