Virginia West
Virginia West became Director of the Wales International Consortium (WIC) in October 2003. WIC is an association of and funded by all of the universities in Wales, UK, to work collaboratively in international recruitment.
Virginia’s previous posts include Deputy Director of the International Division at Cardiff University, and Director of 125th Anniversary Campaign, Development Officer and Director of Studies at the English Language Centre for International Students at Aberystwyth University. Before joining higher education, Virginia taught English in the public and private sector.
Over the last 25 years Virginia’s work has involved student recruitment, alumni relations, and university marketing, partnership and development work worldwide.
The aim of WIC is to achieve shared objectives through collaborative projects internationally, working closely with the Welsh Government and Higher Education Wales (the Committee of Vice-Chancellors in Wales) to promote Wales as a partner and destination for higher education.
