Dr Ian Willis is the Director of Studies for the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education at the University of Liverpool.

He has been involved in a number of consultancy projects to enhance learning and teaching including work in Syria, Canada, Ghana, Tanzania and Malawi.

He is the University of Liverpool-based Director of a collaborative project with the University of Health Sciences in Lahore to help build capacity for the development of learning and teaching in medical education in the Punjab. The three-year project is funded by the British Council and the Higher Education Commission in Pakistan. It is based on capacity building of systems and structures, staff development for learning and teaching and research and evaluation for sustainable local practice.

Ian is also a course developer and tutor on the University’s online professional doctorate (EdD Higher Education).
