Pauline Burton

For the last three years Pauline Burton has work in the newly formed Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, Multi Agency Travellers Unit (MATU) mainly responsible for the G.A.T.E (Gypsy and Travellers Equality) project. The project has been funded by Communities and Local Government (CLG) to look at hate incidents and crimes.

Pauline worked for 21 years as Leicester City Council, Gypsy and Traveller Liaison Officer and managed one authorised Gypsy Site, gave Housing Support, and co-coordinated the social needs assessments on unauthorised encampments.

Before this, Pauline was a Homeless Officer for five years with Leicester City Council. Pauline holds the Btec Advanced Award in Management of Gypsy & Traveller Sites, and the Charter Institute of Housing Managing Gypsy and Traveller Sites.

Pauline is also a tutor for the Btec Advanced Award in Management of Gypsy & Traveller Sites, and a Committee member of the National Association of Gypsy and Traveller Officers
