Linda Uren has worked for most of her career in children' services, including many years' experience as an operational manager. She is currently Director of Children’s Services in Gloucestershire, also leading on commissioning.

She has been instrumental in the development of new approaches to early intervention work including budget holding lead professionals and individual budgets, school commissioning and integrated young people's services. Linda previously worked for the DFES leading for the Sure Start Unit on the 10 year childcare strategy and working as Regional Manager for Sure Start and Children's Fund. Prior to that she led the establishment of an integrated early years and childcare service within Bristol LEA. She is currently a member of the DfE Early Years Co-Production Steering Group.
