Julie is responsible for governance, research and development, and capacity building at the ABS. She directs the International Deans' Programme and lectures at Birkbeck and the Open University. She is a Fellow of the AUA, CIPD, and HEA and a member of Lincoln's Inn. She earned her PhD in strategic management at Warwick University.

Julie chairs the membership working group of the Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools. She is on the International Advisory Board of IAE Lyon School of Management and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development's membership committee. Previously, Julie worked in the National Health Service, School of Oriental & African Studies, University College London's Chemistry Department, and City University.

Julie has facilitated workshops in China, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kuwait, Russia, and Southeast Asia in the low cost airline, banking, and oil and gas sectors.
