Eric is the Head of Intellectual Property for Europe, Africa, Middle East & CIS at Caterpillar, a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives. Eric is a Chartered Patent Attorney, a European Patent Attorney and a Registered Trademark Attorney with an engineering background, the engineering group being his starting point with the Caterpillar group over 16 years ago.

Since joining the IP group in 2003, Eric has been instrumental in the growth of the IP activity in the region and now manages a team of patent and trademark attorneys and professionals having first hand responsibility for all IP matters in the region including patents, trademarks, IP agreements, enforcement, litigation and IP due diligence in M&A contexts.

Eric is a Council member of the IP Federation and a member of its Governance committee, and also has a seat on the Steering Committee of BASCAP.
