Professor Parekh qualified as a clinical psychologist and has held many academic appointments. In 2000, she was appointed ministerial adviser on higher education and later headed the Department of Education’s Merger Unit responsible for the restructuring and transformation of the country’s higher education system through mergers and incorporations.
