As vice-president for research at Qatar University from 2007 to June 2015, Dr Al-Derham played a major role in advancing research activity at both university and national levels. This has enabled QU, among other achievements, to secure its position as leader of research excellence within the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region.
