Omar is a Chartered Accountant by profession and is a recognized global specialist in Islamic Finance.

Omar worked with Ernst & Young UK in the Financial Services Group, Audit & Advisory, Private Equity and award winning Islamic Financial Services Group (Bahrain) where he developed operational frameworks for new Islamic banks and Headed the E&Y UK firms Islamic finance offering in London.

Omar is currently an Executive Board Member of The Islamic Finance Council UK and leads the organisation’s activities in the arena of government policy advisory and shariah governance.
