Professor Sir Jim McDonald holds the Rolls-Royce chair in electrical systems, co-chairs (with the first minister) the Scottish government’s Energy Advisory Board and chairs the Glasgow Economic Leadership Board and Glasgow Science Centre. He also acts as non-executive director of Scottish Power, the Weir Group, the UK Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult and the National Physical Laboratory.
