Martin Palmer is Principal Officer: Libraries for Essex County Council, where he has worked in a variety of roles since the mid 1970s. He has been closely involved in recent developments such as the introduction of RFID self service and e-books, and is also chair of BIC’s (Book Industry Communication) E4Libraries programme, which is designed to promote the use of standards and e-commerce solutions in the library supply chain.
