Alison has worked in the public sector for over 20 years in both central and local government. In a varied career as a civil servant, she has experience of both operational and policy delivery from her time with the Crown Prosecution Service and the Cabinet Office.

She currently works for the National School of Government on the Capability Building Programme; which has developed a practical way to help public sector people collaborate and find innovative solutions to public sector problems. Most recently she has lead on a cross-government project to build departments’ capability to improve their employee engagement.
