Rebecca Chaloner
As Head of the Social Enterprise Unit at the Department of Health, Rebecca is responsible for leading the development and implementation of social enterprise business models in health and social care.
She leads on the development of NHS staff guidance on the ‘right to request’ to set up social enterprises. She is also responsible for overseeing the Department’s Social Enterprise Investment Fund, which has invested approximately £50m in more than 300 organisations since 2007.
Prior to joining the Department of Health in 2005, Rebecca held a variety of posts within the NHS, including Head of Policy and Head of Implementation at NHS Direct.
She holds a BA in Media Studies from the University of Sunderland.
