Of Jane’s 25 years in Further Education, the last seven have been as Principal of Alton College (judged ‘outstanding’ in two consecutive inspections). Jane has previously taught in 11-16 and 11-18 comprehensive schools in Merseyside and has been a part-time inspector for Ofsted; the Adult Learning Inspectorate and the Further Education Funding Council.

Jane was educated in the Wirral and graduated from Southampton University, with postgraduate degrees from Leicester and Queen’s Universities.

Jane is a member of the Hampshire Children’s Trust Board, the East Hampshire Local Community Partnership and the 14-19 East Hampshire Consortium. Jane chairs the East Hampshire Education Improvement Partnership and is a member of several AoC Portfolio Groups. Jane also carries out work for LSIS and other training organisations and is an accredited Governor Trainer and an external coach and mentor.
