Obi Amadi
Obi Amadi has been in post as Lead Professional Officer, Unite/CPHVA since May 2000. Obi joined from Greenwich Healthcare Trust where she was a Clinical Services Manager.
Obi trained as a midwife at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital, London, before gaining her health visiting qualification at the West London Institute of Higher Education. She then qualified as a nurse practitioner in 1994 and has worked as a health visitor, nurse practitioner and manager before taking up her current post.
Obi said; “This is an exciting time for community nurses as the government has reinforced the important role that community practitioners have in the fight to reduce health inequalities, but at the same time NHS trusts have cut back on the community nurse workforce which is very challenging to those on the frontline of care. Nevertheless, Unite/CPHVA has a vital role to play in helping shape and deliver health improvement – and I look forward to playing my part in supporting practitioners to achieve this.”
