Janique Burden
Janique Burden is Children’s Service Manager for the NSPCC Young Witness Service of Northern Ireland. The project provides support to approximately 350 child victims and witnesses.
Janique’s professional career as a social worker in the field of child protection, spanning 23 years, has included work within the statutory and voluntary sector, both as a practitioner and as a manager.
Janique has championed the rights of children in Court, securing local Government commitment to the roll out of a universal Service in Northern Ireland and Judicial support for the use of remote TV link sites
In 2006 Janique presented to The International Association of Youth and Family Judges and Magistrates XVII World Congress in Belfast resultant from this was the inclusion of Child witnesses and victims of crimes in the Belfast Declaration to the United Nations.
