Sir Simon Milton
Sir Simon Milton was London councillor for eighteen years and was been Leader of Westminster City Council since 2000. As Council Leader, he took Westminster to the top of the local government league tables and numerous awards including Council of the Year in 2004. He was Deputy Chairman of the Local Government Association, a national body and was knighted for services to local government in 2006. Prior to becoming Leader, Simon ran a public relations consultancy business employing 40 people.
He died in 2011.
