Derfel Owen, Development Officer (Students and Enhancement) Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education

Derfel Owen is a graduate of British Politics and Legislative Studies from the University of Hull. Derfel has extensive experience of working with students and developing effective structures for their representation and engagement in institutional management. After graduating in 2004 Derfel served as President of Hull University Union and was then elected to serve as a member of the National Executive Committee of the National Union of Students where, among other projects, he supported the national union's work on student representation and engagement at institutional level. Following this, Derfel was recruited by Goldsmith, University of London as Student Development and Support Manager.

At QAA Derfel is based in the Development and Enhancement Group where he is primarily responsible for student engagement activities, he also has responsibility for revision subject benchmark statements and sections of the Code of Practice.
