This national conference focused on the Government’s “Find Your Talent” scheme and other policy initiatives which seek to unlock children’s talent through culture, creativity and the arts. In bringing together schools, children’s services, cultural services and the creative and cultural sector, the event looked at how to deliver the Government’s ambitions to provide children and young people with five hours high quality culture and creativity per week, in and out of school. Delegates explored how to commission and coordinate networks which ensure schools and young people have access to creative resources and cultural institutions and considered the implications for the curriculum and for teaching. The conference also presented innovative approaches to increase cultural entitlement outside the classroom and looked at the role of extended schools.
