Improving International Student Experience: Understanding the winds of change #iise
22 Jan 2013
Broadcast live from London
The contribution of international students to the UK is enormous; culturally, academically and financially. The UK retains a substantial reputation for attracting and retaining international students from across the globe, but competition is intensifying. Recent policy changes to international student visa regulations in the UK, and emerging challenges from key competitors teaching in English - particularly in the United States, Australia and Europe - mean that the environment for international student recruitment in the UK is facing a tough period for growing student numbers. Bad headlines in relation to the international student experience and recruitment have also had an impact on the reputation of UK higher education abroad.  Watch the exchange between the UEA Vice Chancellor and the Home Office on the student visa debate On-line discussion of the exchange here
