Brian Webster is a Professor of Nursing and Assistant Dean at the Faculty of Health, Life & Social Sciences, Edinburgh Napier University.

He is Chair of the Scottish Academic Heads of Nursing and Allied Health Professions as well as an Executive Member of the Council of deans of health. A nurse for 30 years Brian has a clinical background in mental health and adult nursing with a specialist focus on substance misuse. His research has focused on alcohol use and misuse with an emphasis on students’ use of alcohol whilst at university.

Brian has previously worked as the head of school of Nursing & midwifery at the Robert Gordon University Aberdeen and as Director of Education at the School of Health Sciences, University of Southampton.
